The challenge was to design an eLearning game that captures the attention of high school students, while encouraging active participation and retention of driving knowledge. This required developing a quiz-based gameplay that immerses players in various driving scenarios, allowing them to test their knowledge in a dynamic and enjoyable environment.
Having been involved in every step of the process, from conceptualization to the final publish, I took charge of the overall game design. Alongside this, I played a pivotal role in assisting with the development phase to ensure the game's successful completion. With careful attention to detail and hands-on involvement throughout the project lifecycle, I contributed to delivering a polished and engaging eLearning experience for high school students, seamlessly blending interactive gameplay with essential driving skills education.
Discovery and Research: Conducted design consultations with client, consulted with instructional designers on driver education content, and researched student learning preferences to inform game design.
Design and Development: Collaborated with a developer to employ HTML5, CSS and JavaScript to create an interactive and visually appealing game interface, incorporating engaging graphics and intuitive heads-up display
Testing and Iteration: Conducted extensive playtesting to refine the game mechanics, quiz difficulty, ensuring an optimal balance of challenge and enjoyment.
Overall, Online Road Trip was a success with our education client as we received raving reviews from their internal teams. This eLearning game successfully combined education and entertainment, empowering high school students to become safer and more responsible drivers in a fun and interactive way while signing up for a school parking permit.
